A North Wales family were driving near the village of Llandyrnog when they saw a purple triangular-shaped craft which they said seemed to 'swallow up' their car. The craft then vanished and the family had no memory of the next few hours but were certain it had something to do with their encounter with the UFO.

Apparently the RAF instructed the family never to make a public comment about the episode. Other people in the area reported strange sightings in the area on the night of their abduction.
