Unidentified flying objects, flying saucers, call them what you like but several people have reported seeing a thing in the sky over Newport in the past week.

Evening. Daylight.

Two 13-year-old boys, were playing near their homes at Woodland Road, Newport. Lewis Trickey of Orchard Street, and Jeffrey Lane of Woodland Road, saw a cone-shaped object in the sky.

Lewis said, "It was a silver cone-shaped object in the sky going in a straight line; it went into the distance and just disappeared. I am certain it was not an aeroplane because there was no vapour trail, and it was still light at the time."
