A pupil of Rydal School in Colwyn Bay, 17-year-old Alex Brereton woke up when he heard a noise. At first he thought it was an aeroplane, "but it sounded more like the noise made by flying saucers in films," he said.

Looking out of the window he saw, "this white rocket that was bright." To make sure he was not seeing things, Alex put on his glasses. By then the object had stopped moving but it still looked big and there were flashing lights. Then it went away really quickly and seemed to change shape. I should have awakened someone I suppose, only I didn't."
