3.20 PM. Clear sunny day.

The witnesses were sitting in their garden in Barry saw an object described as a bright light at first and then looked like a box kite.

There was no sound, wings or fuselage apparent. It was at an altitude of 2 to 3,000 ft as it flew towards them, over their garden and then due west over Cardiff Airport.

Visibility was excellent and they could not mistake it for a plane.

‘Was definitely something you could not explain.’
