Mr E. Rowlands lived at Llwyn, to the north of Llanrhaeadr on the way to Denbigh. He got upto give his dog pain killers as she was suffering from cancer. On the way out of the house he noticed flashing red and blue lights approaching in the sky from the direction of Pen Bryn Llwyn and Ty Coch farm [north-west] and towards his cottage. As it moved he could see it was:

'Like a porta-cabin over 40-50 ft long, with lighted windows. I think it could have been round as the lights were clearly visible as it approached and passed over the cottages. It seemed to be the same height as a helicopter would fly. It carried on and disappeared over the Clwydian Range [to the east]. It was visible for about 20 minutes.'
