A resident of Ffairfach saw an object above the hills behind Ffairfach, Llandeilo. He took the object to be a peculiarly large star, one side of which was throbbing with ruby light.

"Presently it began to stir with an airy movement, as if it was a balloon or paper lantern of immense size, and, so moving, it slowly disappeared behind the hills separating Llandeilo from Trapp."
