David was on his way home in Pontlliw from work (he worked at a pub in Killay), driving north on Cecil Road from Dunvant to Gowerton. He saw an object described as a long shape with eight bright white lights, roughly over Gowerton School and the stables on the hill on the left of the road ahead. He slowed down as did a car coming in the other direction. What he saw was high one minute and just above the trees the next.

It was travelling the opposite direction as himself. He pulled in to take a picture but by that time it had just disappeared.

The object had been seen over Pontlliw before this, David found out later. He was quite shaken by the sighting. The route taken by the object is commonly used by RAF Hercules planes but this has been discounted as a possible explanation as one had gone over at about 11.30 pm on 22 June, about an hour before David's sighting. They tend to be very loud and unmistakable.
