22 JULY 2016 - TRALLWN, SWANSEA
Stephen Gray (51), living in Lon Enfys, Trallwn, had been up all night due to illness and went outside his home for a cigarette. He stood outside his front door (facing west) and heard a high-level jet airliner passing overhead.
He looked for it above his head, his eyes following the contrail and watched the jet liner passing from west to east, at the usual high altitude and was amazed to see that it was being followed by an object very close to its tail and travelling to the right of its contrail. It's shape was like an elongated rugby ball, and about half the length and width of the fuselage of the jet, its orientation mirroring that of the plane. It was of a dark grey colour, but, like the plane, reflected the rays of the early morning sun.
Then as they passed directly overhead, the object moved to the left hand side of the contrail, keeping its east-west orientation and pulled up level to the jet, then pulling ahead below the plane's wings so was travelling alongside and below it on the port side. Stephen then lost sight of both the plane and object as they passed over the roof, which obscured them.
