A Newport resident states that on Saturday night he noticed a moving light over the docks or the river, and for some minutes when first seen it was difficult to tell whether it was a very high land light or a mast-head light. Slowly the light rose, and at the same time gradually travelled in the direction of Cardiff.

No sound of engines could be heard, but that was not to be wondered at, seeing that the airship, if it was one, was much too far off.

Then suddenly the light disappeared as though the craft was enveloped in a dense cloud.
