Allen Thomas and Bob Trott saw "two orange orbs" rising over the mountain to the west of Cwmbran. The orbs were at about helicopter height and were making no sound.

"They came level with us and both turned and sped off different directions. One sped off in the direction of Greenmeadow Golf Club [Croesyceiliog] and the other sped off in the direction of Pontypool. They weren't Chinese lanterns because they sped off too fast."
